Women and Snowboarding
You can find women power everywhere these days, even on the snowboarding slopes. This is even more evident after watching the 2010 Olympics where women were doing the same daredevil stunts as most of the men.
Not too long ago, when women took up the sport of snowboarding, they used the same types of equipment as men. Men’s snowboards, men’s skis, men/s jackets and so on. Today, however, after a number of years, some common traits have been acknowledged for womens snowboards. Recognizing that men and women require differently designed boards, women’s boards are specifically designed with these factors in mind. Basically, boards designed for women have the following common traits:
They have narrower waists, are shorter in length, and a softer flex pattern. They have other difference as well, but these are the main ones.
