Step one to making your dog’s life a bit easier so they can climb up and down from places such as, the couch, bed and even the vehicle is the purchase of a pet ramp but now you need to train your pet to use the ramp.

Some pets take to their new found freedom (the ramp) and trot up and down immediately. However, some pets need a little convincing. How can you get your pet to use the ramp? You may want start by lying the ramp flat on the ground so your pet can become familiar with it on level ground. Next place it where they will be using the ramp. Now it’s time to lure them up with some treats (my doggie loves Greenies) and when they reach the top shower them with praise. Now repeat the process in reverse and voila, your doggie is walking up and down their new ramp.

Now that your dog is familiar with their new ramp, sit back and watch your pet do some of those things they did as a young pup and the new attitude they will have. They will come alive and this will make you happy!
