Motion Sensors
Interior PIR Motion Sensors are a widely used motion detection device used with home security systems. These detection devices are not designed to cover the entire room or area where they are set up in as there will always be a few areas (blind spots) that the detection pattern does not cover. This usually does not create any kind of problem as without full knowledge of where various blind spots exist, an intruder would not be able to move through an area without triggering the alarm.
The small LED light on the front of motion detectors will blink on & off each time someone in the home moves within the detection area captured by the sensor. If the wrong individual has an opportunity to observe the LED go on & off moving around in your home they could very quickly observe any of your sensors detection patterns as well as where various blind spots exist.
If you have any strangers performing work in your home you may want to err on the side of caution by having the LED in your motion sensors deactivated or placing a small piece of tape over the LED.
You can find additional information on motion sensors as well as all other areas of home security.
