Majorette For Uniform Catalogs and Costumes
Majorettes are girls or young women who wear majorette costumes from majorette uniform catalogs and do choreographed dance or movement in a synchronized group. They do baton twirling and are associated with marching bands during parades.
It started in the early 1900s from girls’ involvement in drill and gymnastic teams. Majorettes can also twirl knives, flags and other items.
