There are many tiny things that could result in a huge house fire. You have to have good emergency action plans in place in the event you do have such a fire, though I hope you never do. Plan escape routes and a safe meeting place for the family once they are outside, and then rehearse it. Though this can be scary for some kids, it is far better than them hiding under the bed if a fire were to break out. Other emergency action plans of which you might consider having in place would be what to do in the event of a natural disaster. You may think you live where no flooding or tornado would take place, but that is not something you can be 100% sure about. In fact, these things happen anywhere, and it is good to know what to do if that were to happen.
