Trusting your partner, friends, and family
Trust in a relationship, either it’s with your significant other, family, friends, or colleagues, is paramount to living a fulfilling life. With out trust, coping with uncertainties can lead to immense suffering for all parties involved. So what are the elements that need to be present to create a trusting relationship?
Benifit of the doubt
One of the most important factors is to give the other person the benifit of the doubt. Until someone has proven them selves untrustworthy, assume that they have your best interests at heart. The flip is to be suspisious and jealous, which can eat you up in side, and kill the new relationship in short time.
Keep you word
Being truthful is key to establishing trust in relationships of any type. If you give your word to do something, you must follow through. Keeping you word consistuntly also gives you goodwill with the other person, so that if you one day mess up mildly, you will probably easily be forgiven.
Pick your friends wisely
Remember, your actions are the sum of the expectations and demands of your sorroundings. This means, you will only be as ethical, loving, caring, and trustworthy as your family, friends, partner, and colleagues expect you to be. In other words, if you spend most of your time with untrustworthy people, this might just affect your futre decisions. Not only that, but people with a history of subpar behaviour are more prone to repeat that behaviour, making it more difficult to trust them.
