Bermuda Grass Control
The fast growing Bermuda grass seed has proven to be one of our popular varieties, and with good reason. It’s often the grass chosen to prevent soil erosion. It’s used to stabilize ditch banks, beautify landscapes, and provide smooth surfaces for playing on sports fields and playgrounds.
But Bermuda grass control is difficult because, for all its success, it is a grass that spreads like crazy. If the climate is right, Bermuda grass grows and spreads very easily, which is why some gardeners despise it so much. Their complaint is that Bermuda grass is difficult to control and sometimes destroys other garden vegetation.
One key is how you cut it. Once it starts to grow, don’t mow it right away. Let it get to a length of about four inches before you give it the first cut. For the first cut, trim it down to about two inches.
